About Nordic Wilderness

Nordic Wilderness is an informational website dedicated to exploring and explaining the wildlife and natural environments of Scandinavia and the broader Nordic region. The goal is to provide clear, factual and accessible content about the animals, forests, mountains, tundra and waterways of northern Europe.

The content on this site is written for an international audience — anyone who wants to learn about moose, brown bears, wolves, lynx, reindeer and the ecosystems they inhabit. Whether you are planning a visit to the Nordic countries or simply curious about the wildlife of the North, this site aims to be a reliable and growing resource.

Nordic Wilderness is intended to function as a knowledge base that expands over time. New species profiles, ecosystem descriptions, wildlife watching guides and seasonal nature articles will be added regularly. The ambition is to build one of the most comprehensive English-language resources about Nordic wildlife and nature.

All content is written with respect for the natural world. The site does not promote activities that disturb wildlife or damage natural habitats. The tone is educational and neutral, informed by scientific sources and a genuine appreciation for the Nordic wilderness.
